The main dere types: (check out the dere types wiki for more info, including examples of each category the-dere-types....)
Dandere: Timid, quiet, shy, anxious, submissive, distant.
Deredere: Cheerful, energetic, joyful, lovey-dovey, sensitive, encouraging.
Kuudere: Calm, collected, reserved, if they do have romantic feelings, they bury it deep down.
Tsundere: Hot and cold, switches between abusive and lovey, dramatic. Some tsunderes switch back and forth from moment to moment, some warmup gradually.
Yandere: Possessive, twisted, controlling, overly devoted – sometimes violently so.
